PLEASE READ CAREFULLY: The Dennis Township Summer Camp will be held at the Recreation complex located on Dennisville Road in South Dennis. Camp will begin Tuesday, June 24, 2008 and end on Thursday, August 14, 2008.
To enroll in camp, a child must be a Dennis Township resident between the ages of five (must turn five by August 1, 2008), and thirteen (cannot turn fourteen before August 1, 2008). Birth certificate and proof of residency must be shown at registration. Signups will not be accepted before or after the two dates listed below.
Campers are divided into two age groups: 5 to 8 and 9 to 13 years old. The maximum number of total camp spaces available is one hundred. The maximum number of spaces available for Package "A" is sixty. No more than forty two of these sixty spaces can be used for the 9 to 13 age group.
Registration will be held Thursday, May 1, 2008 at 5:30 P.M. in the Community Room of the Municipal Complex. The Complex is located at 571 Petersburg Road in Dennisville. Camp registration is accepted on a first come, first served basis. All forms must be completed by the child's parent or legal guardian. Please note that there is no guarantee that even if you attend the first registration date you will get a spot. Doors will open at 5:30 P.M. sharp. It is up to the individual as to what time he/she decides to secure a place in line. Once in line, an individual cannot leave for longer than twenty minutes without forfeiting their spot. Each individual in line can only register children from one family. No exceptions!
If space is still available, registration will also be accepted on Monday, May 5, 2008, 5:30 PM at the Rec Center (565 Dennisville Road in South Dennis).
A $50.00, per child, non-refundable deposit is due at registration. A refund, minus the non-refundable deposit, will only be granted if a child withdraws before the start of camp and a replacement is secured from the waiting list. Balance of money is due on or before June 6, 2008.
INFORMATION FOR PARENTS:
Health and First Aid: Several staff members are Red Cross trained in first aid and CPR. For more serious problems, a child would be transported to Cape Regional Medical Center in Cape May Court House.
Insurance: Parent/Guardian is responsible for child's health insurance. The camp is covered under the recreation department's sports accident policy. The policy provides secondary coverage for any injury that occurs during camp.
Staff: All camp counselors are over the age of sixteen. Many are college students majoring in education. Staff/Camper Ratio: To provide the best possible supervision for your child there will be at least one staff member for every ten campers.
Lunch: All campers must bring a lunch. We suggest parents place their child's lunch in a small personal cooler with their name legibly written on the outside. No glass bottles or leaky thermoses please!
Hours: Camp will be held from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM. Children may be dropped off anytime after 8:45 AM and must be picked up no later than 3:15 PM.
Behavior Policy: The Dennis Township Summer Camp was created to give children an opportunity to socialize and interact with their peers in a relaxed fun setting. To ensure the safety and well being of all campers, certain rules and guidelines have been established and will be strictly enforced. The camp reserves the right to expel any camper, without a refund, who fails to follow the rules.

2008 Summer Camp, Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays from June 24th to August 14th for ages 5 to 13.

Early Registration - May 21ST ($15.00 per player, $25.00 per family) The co-ed basketball league will be held again this summer on the outdoor courts of the Rec Complex. The season will begin in late June and end with the championship games on Monday, August 4TH. All games will be played on weeknights. Township children entering grades 3RD through 9TH are eligible to participate. Grade is determined as of Sept. 2008. Registration will be accepted at the Rec Center from 3:00 to 6:00 PM on 5/21(early bird), 5/28 and 6/2. Fee is $20.00 per player or $30.00 per family. In person registration will only be accepted during the dates and times listed above. After 6/2, anyone wishing to play will be placed on a waiting list and only added to a team if space is available and at the discretion of the rec department.

Open to township children in grades 6, 7 & 8. The club will meet at the rec center soccer fields on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 4:00 P.M. beginning April 16th. Mondays, Tuesdays & Wednesdays: 10:30 to Noon.Unstructured playtime in the gym for children five and younger. Parents are required to stay and supervise their child(ren). Wednesday, May 14th will be the last day.

Thursdays: 10:30 to 11:30 AM. For children ages three to five. Class is limited to 12 children, please call the rec office, 861-1045 on Wednesday to reserve your spot.
*Tot programs will not be held on: 1/21, 2/12 and 2/18. Thursday, May 8th will be the last day.

*The path that winds its way around the perimeter of the rec complex is 1.3 miles in length.
*All pets must be on a leash when on township property. Owners must pickup after their dogs.
*Anyone caught vandalizing or defacing township property will be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.

The Dennis Township website, www.dennistwp.org provides another avenue for residents to find information on township services, programs and activities. Visit the site on a regular basis and stay up to date on the happenings of the recreation program.

The municipal auditor has directed this office to deposit (within a 24 hour period) any monies collected for recreation programs. Since each program is run through an association and is made up of volunteers, we try very hard to accommodate the treasurers of these associations, as they are the persons responsible to deposit the monies. Therefore, there are specific dates and times set up for registration with no exceptions.

The new fitness path at the recreation complex is a 1.3 mile asphalted path, it winds its way around the perimeter of the park and residents will find that it is perfect for walking, jogging and roller skating. Please keep in mind that bikes and all types of motorized vehicles are not permitted on the path. Stop by and take a walk!
