red arrow Trash & Recycling Rules & Regulations:

blue square All trash and recycling items must be separated and placed curbside by 6:30 a.m. on the day of collection.
blue square All trash must be sealed or tied in plastic bags or in plastic or metal containers with lids, exterior handles and drainage holes in bottom.
blue square Recycling containers must be labeled.
blue square No trash will be collected in cardboard boxes.
blue square No trash containers weighing over 50 pounds will be collected.
blue square No trash will be collected in 55 gallon drums.
blue square No construction materials will be collected.
blue square Trash and recycling materials are not to be placed curbside earlier than the night before collection.
blue square Businesses are responsible for their own disposal.

red arrow How To recycle

blue square Rinsed glass, plastic and metal containers are to be placed in the same reusable container (plastic or metal). No plastic or paper bags.
blue square Cardboard and paper can be placed curbside in paper bags, corrugated boxes or reusable containers (metal or plastic).
blue square Used motor oil must be put in clear 1-gallon containers (milk jugs preferably with screw on lids) and brought to the Public Works garage on weekdays from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. Please call 861-5309 first.

blue square Glass food and beverage bottles and jars.
blue square Household plastic containers (food, beverage, soap, detergent, health and beauty aids having a #1 or #2 recycling symbol).
No automotive fluid containers.
blue square Aluminum and steel plated cans, (fruit, vegetable, fish and pet food cans, and bi-metal cans including non-aluminum beverage cans).
blue square Clean mixed paper products (junk mail, news papers, magazines and corrugated cardboard)

blue square Any items not listed are considered non-recyclable, if any questions call the Department of Public Works at 861-5309.
blue square The list of recyclable and non-recyclable material is provided to the Township by the CMCMUA. The Township can only collect those items accepted by the CMCMUA.
** Remember that we will not collect any hazardous materials at the curbside. You must store these materials and dispose of them through the MUA.

blue square The proper and legal disposal of unwanted paints, thinners, varnishes and other hazardous household materials is done twice a year by taking them to the Cape May County Municipal Authority's hazardous materials collection location. The MUA advertises this collection in area newspapers and they do a mailing to all county residents. For further information, contact the MUA at 465-9026. There are two collections each year, one in early spring and the other in fall.

Leave a message on the answering machine if the staff is out on business. The department is open from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday through Friday (summer hours are 6 a.m. to 2 p.m. from Memorial Day to Labor Day).

Area 1: From Johnson's Mill Pond north, including NW Dennis, Eldora & Belleplain.

Area 2: From Johnson's Mill Pond south, including all of Dennisville and part of South Dennis, including all roads branching off of Route 47. Route 83 to and including Dennis Creek Village. Dennisville Road from Route 83 to intersection of Hagen Road and Dennisville Road.
(Your Trash Day is TUESDAY)

Area 3: Remainder of Route 83, Route 9 south from intersection of Route 9 and Route 83, all of Kings Highway to Woodbine-Ocean View Road, Dennisville Road from intersection with Hagan Road to intersection with Main Street in South Seaville, Hagen Road, North & South Ravenwood Drive, and all roads branching off of these roads.

Area 4: Route 9 north of intersection with Route 83, all roads east of Route 9, Corson's Tavern Road, Woodbine-Ocean View Road, Main Street in South Seaville, DeVaul's Lane, Tompkins Lane, Alexander Way, and all roads branching off of these roads.
